Continuing this month's 'love' theme Paul van Essen how love is central to the gospel. We are commanded to love God but also love people; our partners, families, friends and all those around us. They are not mutually exclusive. In fact if you say you love God but do not love people you are deceived. You have to love both.

'It's love that makes the world go round' and the bible has a lot to say about it. After all, God is love. But there are different kinds of love; human love and selfless supernatural godly love and we need to be able to give and receive both. This message explores the different words for love in the New Testament and demonstrates what we need and when.

In part 2 of this new series Paul highlights the importance of seeing the land and believing you can take it - if you really want it. He demonstrates the principle using biblical examples and encourages us to use our faith to get what God has given us. Abundance, victory, provision and health are but a few things we can have if we contend for them.

As we enter a new year it is a good time to consider what territory we want to take and what we want to accomplish this year. God might have promised you things in the past which you still haven't tasted, so now is the time to rise up and take what is rightfully yours, your promised land.

Generally people are too concerned about material or natural things while not concerned enough about spiritual matters. Sadly this can also apply to Christians who then fall short of the successful life God intended for them. Conversely others can be over spiritual which also has its drawbacks. We need to find the right balance between the two and make sure our life is built on a strong foundation of love and prayer if we want to live as god intends.
